Zip Code Set up
Always check City, State, Zip Code combination before proceeding. Google can be used or USPS has a Zip Code locator tool on their website.
SASST is the setup function for Zip Codes.
The information that is entered/selected in SASST is from previously setup values in SASGS. All States are already set up. There could be an occasion that a County for a particular state might need to be added. The only reason why a City might need to be set up in SASGS is for any special City Sales Tax above and beyond the State and Federal tax.
SASGS (Sales Use Tax Setup) has the ability to search the various tax types with the Advanced Search <Show More> Criteria.
In the Advanced Search, Type - Select the Tax Type to search.
Click <Search>
All records will display matching the Criteria entered.
When a zip code is requested to be setup, check to see if the zip code is already set up in SASST. Google it or go to the USPS.com site (specifically what county the zip code is located). Look up the Zip Code in SASST, if it is there, look and see what state/county/city it is.
Only proceed if State and County are found in SASGS. There might be a need to set up the City in SASGS too.
If the Zip code is not found in SASST Click <NEW>.
Zip Code: Manually enter this value
Taxing State: Select from the Lookup Menu
County: Select from the Lookup Menu
City: Select if set up
Click: <SAVE>
