Selling Restricted Use Items
Restricted items are identified by the Government requiring a buyer to obtain a license before the purchasing. This licensing requirement often involves training regarding: safe handling, usage, storage, and disposal of the identified Hazardous item(s). Sale of any of these items without verification by the retailor will result in penalties including but not limited to $ fines to be paid by the retailor.
Restricted Item entry must happen in the Order Entry Advance Line Entry Screen for entry of the customer’s license #.
The customer’s license number is REQUIRED for both Quotes and Orders.
It is necessary to include the correct license number as state inspectors are regularly reviewing our branches.
In addition to entering the License # in the system you should also be fill out the log books.
As soon as the item is entered in the Advanced Line Entry product box, the error messages will appear.
Click <OK>

Enter the appropriate quantity
Check <Restricted Use Item>
Enter the License Number of the customer in the box labeled <License Number>

The Quick Entry and the Easy Entry Line options will add the item , but when finishing the order Sx.e will not allow the order to complete.
An error message will appear. Note, the message will inform which line item(s) are in need of License Information.

The item(s) must be Updated in Advanced Line Entry:
Check <Restricted Use Item>
Enter the License Number of the customer in the box labeled <License Number>

How to Inquire on the License Number entered per line item.
The License information will be available to view:
Order Inquiry > Line Detail
Scroll to the Right to view the Restriction Override Comment (Customer License Number)
